A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member today allegedly died of gun-shots from his own rifle in Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Bansi Lal was found dead due to gun-shot wounds from his rifle at his home in Gunda village of Bhudal tehsil in the district, police officials said.
The reason behind the death is being investigated to ascertain whether it was a suicide or a result of accidental firing or a murder, they said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered, police said.
