Vedika Amin smashes another national record

Maharashtra girl Vedika Amin smashed yet another national record on day 3 of 33rd Glenmark Sub Junior Aquatic Championships here today.

With a timing of 37.40 sec, Vedika broke the record of Monique Gandhi set in 2010. Kareena Shankta also from Maharashtra won silver clocking 38.31 sec.

Aeka Chatra from Maharashtra won gold in the Girls 100m backstroke in the Girls Group 3 division securing a time of 01:15.38 sec. She was followed by Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka with a time of 1:15.52 sec.

Vedika, the record breaker yesterday, claimed bronze with a time of 1:16.86 sec. Aeka Chatra smashed the existing record in 50m butterfly Group 3 girls with a new time of 31.45 sec but could only finish second as Uttara Gogoi, an athele of Glenmark SAINSA in Delhi, recorded a new record time of 31.25 sec to win gold.
 

Uttara's clubmate and statemate Aastha Choudhary won bronze with a timing of 31.79 sec.

Ronak Sawant captured silver in 200m Individual Medley with a timing of 2:47.49 sec. Vidith S Shankar of Karnataka won gold with a timing of 2:46.87 sec while H Nithik from Tamil Nadu won a bronze clocking 2:51.52 sec.

Anaya Punamiya from Maharashtra won silver in the 200 IM Girls Group 4 with a timing of 2:56.60 sec. Lavleen Das of Assam won gold with a timing of 2:55.66 sec while Maharashtra secured another bronze through Nitya Khinvasara in the same event with a timing of 2:57.48 sec.
