Vehicle carrying meat set ablaze in Maharashtra

A vehicle carrying meat was set ablaze allegedly by a mob in Sawkheda village in the district, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when the meat-laden van was going to Vijapur, Inspector of Veergaon police station Santosh Ghodke said.

According to the police inspector, around 200 people comprised the mob that torched the vehicle.

A case will soon be registered in the matter and further action will be taken, he added.
