Vehicle underpass constructed for Rs 18 cr thrown open on NH-2

A vehicle underpass constructed at a cost of Rs 18 crore on Delhi-Agra National Highway-two in Palwal was inaugurated by Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar today.

He said work was being carried out at a rapid pace to make the 179.5 km NH-two six-lane at a cost of Rs 2,945 crore.

A 73.3 km stretch of the National Highway-two lies in Haryana's Faridabad and Palwal on which work is being carried out, he said in a statement here.

The vehicle underpass which was inaugurated today is situated near village Mitrol-Aurangabad in Palwal.

Issuing directions to the officers of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to accelerate the pace of work on the NH-two, Gurjar said work was also being carried out to construct 100 km service roads in Haryana.
 

M Safi, the Project Director of NHAI, said that 14 intersections and 242 junctions would also be constructed under this project.

As many as nine flyovers are being constructed and work is being carried out on four small bridges on the service road, he added.
