Venezuelan woman, Nigerian man arrested with cocaine worth 7.5

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a Venezuelan woman and a Nigerian man, who were allegedly part of an international drugs racket, and recovered cocaine worth Rs 7.5 crore, officials said today.

Brigette D V R Santoyo, 36, from Venezuela, and Okoro C Uka, 39, were appreheded from a hotel in the Mahipalpur area of the national capital yesterday when they were allegedly exchanging the drugs.

Santoyo had allegedly brought along the drugs cache along with her from a foreign destination.

The two have been arrested under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act by the Delhi zonal unit of the NCB, officials said.
 

The Venezuelan woman had arrived in India from Addis Ababa yesterday and had allegedly set up a meeting with the Nigerian man at the hotel to hand over the drugs, a Narcotics Control Bureau official said.

"1.25 kg of Cocaine worth Rs 7.5 crore was seized during the operation," a senior NCB officer said.
