The city of Venice is preparing for the highly anticipated wedding of superstar George Clooney and his British fiancee Amal Alamuddin.

The city officials said that a pedestrian access fronting the Grand Canal would be closed between 12 PM and 2 PM on Monday, citing "the George Clooney wedding", reported Ace Showbiz.

The Venice council explains that the restriction was put out because of safety concern due to the possibly high number of crowd who are drawn to the upcoming festivities.

According to Italian media, the reception will take place at the Aman Resort on the Grand Canal and is expected to be attended by stars such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and Bono.

The bride-to-be, meanwhile, landed in Milan from London yesterday. The beaming lawyer was spotted at the airport wearing casual clothing which consisted of a black jacket over a neon green T-shirt, ripped black pants and sneakers. In addition to her luggage, she carried what appeared to be a hat box.

Clooney, 53, and the human rights lawyer got engaged earlier this year.
