Venus Remedies shares trim early gains; up nearly 4% at close

Trimming most of their initial sharp gains, shares of Venus Remedies ended nearly 4 per cent higher today on profit-booking.

After surging 13.52 per cent to Rs 162 in intra-day trade, shares of Venus Remedies finally ended at Rs 146.70, up 2.80 per cent on the BSE.

On NSE, it settled with a gain of 3.82 per cent at Rs 148.

The stock witnessed sharp rally during the morning trade after the company announced the issue of equity shares to promoters on a preferential basis.

In terms of volume, 5.55 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE and over 19 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
 

Venus Remedies had informed BSE yesterday that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company will be held on June 30, 2015 to consider and approve the issue of fully convertible warrants/equity shares to promoters on a preferential basis subject to approval in the general meeting.

The company's announcement came post market hours.

Meanwhile, in the broader market, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose by 74.16 points to settle at 27,804.37.
