IT major Verizon India in association with International Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care (PCVC) Friday said a helpline has been set to assist victims of domestic violence.
The hotline 044-43111143 and 18001027282 is run by the city-based Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care, a company statement said here.
"Our partnership with PCVC to provide support for victims of domestic violence, helps uphold respect and dignity of all individuals...", Verizon India vice-president and managing director Kalyani Sekar said.
With the partnership, PCVC will be creating a network of trained local service providers to deliver enhanced crisis intervention services, a release said.
PCVC managing trustee Prasanna Gettu said, "we started this helpline with the hope that every call we attend is an opportunity to support people to break out of the cycle of violence."
"This partnership with Verizon will help drive our vision of a life of dignity and respect for all," he said.
