Veteran Bengali actor Chinmoy Roy was today discharged from a private hospital in the city where he had been admitted with multiple injuries on June 30.
He was discharged following a surgery after he was admitted and remained there for several days, a hospital spokesman said.
Roy is currently doing well but he needs bed rest for a few weeks, he said.
The 77-year-old actor, who is mainly known as a comedian, had fallen off the fourth floor of his apartment on June 30 evening, sustaining serious injuries, his son Sankha had said.
He was found lying on the ground floor of the building in South Kolkata by neighbours and admitted to the hospital.
Roy had acted in classics like "Charmurti", "Basanta Bilap" and "Nanigopaler Biye".
