Veteran BJP MLA sits on hunger strike for better roads

Surya Kanta Vyas, a legislator from Soorsagar constituency, began her strike at 10 am along with some supporters including BJP corporators and other party cadres.

Around 4 pm, the CEO of Jodhpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and other officials of the district administration arrived at the spot and assured her that they would repair the roads and clean the drains within a month.

They also assured her that they would repair the street lights within in a few days.

"It is very painful to see the state of this second largest city of Rajasthan which happens to be the hometown of the chief minister.

 

"If nothing happens as promised, I will resume my agitation," she said.
