Veteran freedom fighter Suryamani Panda died of old age related problems at the government district headquarters hospital here, family sources said today.
He was 96 and is survived by a son and three daughters. His wife had predeceased him.
The mortal remains of Panda, who died yesterday were consigned to flames today at Nuniajori cremation ground here.

Panda, who participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942, was suffering from old age related problem and from August 22 his condition became serious, the sources said.
Panda was vice-president of All India Freedom Fighters Samity and working president of the State Freedom Fighters Samity.
He was imprisoned for participating in freedom movement against British Raj. During Quit India movement he took part in the agitation.
State Freedom Fighters Samity president Bhabani Patnaik and All Odisha Freedom Fighters Samity youth wing secretary Birupakshya Tripathy condoled Panda's death.
