Veteran journalist Pranab Sinha dead

Veteran journalist and PTI Tezpur correspondent Pranab Sinha died today after prolonged illness, family sources said.

He was 73 and is survived by his wife.

Sinha, who served PTI for more than 35 years as a stringer, was suffering from diabetes and kidney ailments.

He passed away this morning at his residence in Tezpur.

Besides PTI, Sinha also contributed to UNI, The Assam Tribune, The Sentinel, The Telegraph and the Dooordarshn.

He also edited an Assamese magazine 'Mahajati', started by his father, former MP late Purno Narayan Sinha.

He was the founder President of Sonitpur Journalists' Union and remained in the same post till his death.
 

All Assam Media Employees Federation (AAMEF) and Journalists' Forum Assam (JFA) condoled Sinha's death and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
