Veteran scribe Bhagwat Sharan passes away

Veteran journalist Bhagwat Sharan breathed his last today following a brief spell of illness.

He was 93.

Sharan, who was not well for about a week, is survived by three sons and a daughter.

He was associated with Dainik Jagran for over four decades. He had also headed the Lucknow and Meerut editions of the Hindi language daily newspaper.

Sharan had also been the national general secretary of the National Union of Journalists.

He had been honoured on several occasions for his contribution to journalism.
