Veteran sports photojournalist Bikash Sandhu passes away

Veteran sports photojournalist Bikash Sandhu died today following a prolonged battle with a liver disease, said Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club.

He was 64.

Sandhu is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Sandhu has covered several Tests and One-day Internationals, including World Cups. He has also covered the Wimbledon, Olympic Games and several other prestigious tournaments in his long career spanning more than three decades.

Sandhu was also a well-known photojournalist in Kolkata and national football circuit.

He has served Aajkal newspaper from its inception in 1985.

In his condolence message, Cricket Association of Bengal treasurer Biswarup Dey said, "Sandhu had a long association with sports photography and was well acclaimed."
 

The CSJC also mourned Sandhu's death and sent its condolences to his family.
