Veterinary officer's house set ablaze

The official residence of the Veterinary Project Officer in Jorhat district was set ablaze by miscreants last night, a senior police official said today.

None was injured.

The house at Baghchung, under Lesubari outpost, which was unoccupied at that time was set ablaze at around 10 pm by miscreants, superintendent of police Sanjukta Parasher told PTI.

Six fire tenders were pressed into service to extinguish the blaze, Parasher said.

A refrigerator and some furniture were gutted, she said.
