The VHP today demanded immediate withdrawal of the orders externing a spiritual leader from the city for six months for allegedly making provocative speeches targetting other communities and their leaders.

The head of Sri Peetham of Kakinada Swami Paripoornananda was externed from Hyderabad under Telangana Prevention of Anti-Social and Hazardous Activities Act, they said.

"Externing Swami Paripoornananda is totally wrong. We demand for immediate withdrawal of the externment order," VHP Telangana state president Rama Raju said.

Externment orders are issued against anti-social elements and Swami Paripoornananda is a seer, the VHP leader said and questioned how they could compare the spiritual leader with film critic Kathi Mahesh, (who too has been externed from Hyderabad).

"In view of regular attacks on Hindus, the Swamiji wanted to take out a procession for which permission was initially granted but suddenly it was cancelled on the grounds that some anti-social elements are likely to cause law and order problem," Raju said.

Swami Paripoornananda, who was placed under house arrest here since July 9, ahead of his proposed 'Dharmagraha Yatra' (padayatra),in protest against the recent statements and campaigns in social media against Hindu deities, was externed today from the city for six months, police said.

Police claimed that the Swami had been conducting meetings regularly in various parts of Telangana by making "provocative speeches and his acts are creating panic in the society resulting in breach of public peace, tranquility and public order."

As part of the externment proceedings the Swami was shifted out of the city, from the house in Jubilee Hills here where he was staying temporarily ahead of his proposed padayatra.

The Swami, shall not enter into the limits of Hyderabad city without written permission of the Police Commissioner, however, he is allowed to enter the city for attending the court, if any as and when he is summoned to do so, police said.

Swami Paripoornananda had recently demanded arrest of Telugu actor and movie critic Kathi Mahesh, over his alleged statements against Hindu deities and said he "hurt" the sentiments of the Hindus.

However, the permission for organising counter protest against Mahesh's statements were not permitted by police in any part of the state.

On July 9, Kathi Mahesh, also a filmmaker, who was booked by police for allegedly making statements "disrespecting" Hindu deities, was externed from Hyderabad city for six months.
