While the VHP is adamant to carry out the yatra from Jammu tomorrow with the first batch of devotees reaching the holy shrine on Jayeshth Purnima, the state administration today said that there was no arrangements in place for the pilgrimage right now.

"As far as the dates of the yatra scheduled from June 25, we are making all the possible arrangements. But talking about today, there are no arrangements in place", Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pradeep Gupta told PTI.

Gupta said it was "impracticable" to carry on the yatra under the existing circumstances.

"We have appealed to all those organisations, who want to proceed to the shrine tomorrow, that it was impracticable to carry on the venture in view of the existing conditions in the area.

"It causes a problem for the administration as well as for people", he said.

Meanwhile, VHP national spokesperson, Surinder Jain, said they were determined to reach the holy cave on Jayeshth Purnima and will move ahead with their programme. (MORE)
