The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today appealed to the Centre to "pressure" the Bangladesh and Myanmar governments to ensure the safety of Rohingya Hindus in Rakhine state.

The right-wing group said a delegation will meet the external affairs ministers and high commissioners of the two countries and apprise them of the condition of Rohingya Hindus.

"We have already started relief camps for Rohingya Hindus in Myanmar, Bangladesh and India," VHP's Joint General Secretary Surendra Kumar Jain said.

The VHP also welcomed the Centre's stand on Rohingya refugees.

According to reports, the Myanmar Army has discovered a mass grave containing the bodies of 28 Hindus, including women and children, in violence-wracked Rakhine state. The force has blamed the killings on Muslim Rohingya militants.
