Vice President Hamid Ansari, Home Minister greet Jaya

A host of dignitaries including Vice President Hamid Ansari, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akilesh Yadav today greeted AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa on her assuming office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the sixth time.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Jayalalithaa in a tweet.

Ansari, Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Minorities Welfare Najma Heptullah greeted Jayalalithaa over phone and she thanked them for their good wishes, an official release here said.

Akilesh Yadav in his congratulatory message said "many congratulations for the historic victory in the state election. Wishing you good health and best wishes for another successful tenure in government."
 

Karnataka BJP president and Lok Sabha member B S Yeddyurappa in his message greeted her for "achieving splendid success in Tamil Nadu's Assembly elections," and wished her a successful tenure.

Greeting her, Editorial Director of New Indian Express, Prabhu Chawla wished her "all the best," to take Tamil Nadu to even greater heights than before.
