Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday arrived at Latvia where he will meet various Latvian leaders and discuss ways to strenghten the bilateral ties.
The vice president, who reached the Latvian capital Riga from Vilnius, is on the second leg of his five-day three-nation tour to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the first ever high-level visit from India to the three Baltic countries.
"On the second leg of his trip, VP @MVenkaiahNaidu arrived in Latvia, will meet various Latvian leaders to give greater strength to India-Latvia relations," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
On his arrival at the airport here, the vice president was received by Andris Teikmanis, Head of the Chancery of the President of Latvia, Monika Kapil Mohta, Ambassador of India to Sweden and Latvia, and Artis Bertulis, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to India.
During the visit, Naidu will have bilateral meetings with Latvian President Eglis Levits and Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins. He will also meet the acting Speaker of the Saeima (Latvian Parliament) Inese Libina-Egnere.
He will also attend the Business Forum co-organized by Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indian Chamber ASSOCHAM.

The vice president will lay the wreath at Freedom Monument of Latvia and will unveil the bust of Mahatma Gandhi in the National Library of Latvia.
He will also interact with the Indian community in the Baltic nation.
