Vicky Tyagi murder: Accused sent to police custody for 24 hours

The armed juvenile who had entered a courtroom here masquerading as a lawyer, mortally shot Tyagi multiple times on February 16

A local court today granted police 24-hour-custody of an accused in connection with the murder of gangster Vicky Tyagi in a court here.

According to senior prosecution officer D C Shrivastava, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar sent the accused, a juvenile, to police custody remand for 24 hours from 7 pm today.

Police had sought custody of three days for more interrogation of the accused.

The armed juvenile who had entered a courtroom here masquerading as a lawyer, mortally shot Vicky Tyagi, an alleged gangster multiple times on February 16.

The juvenile was arrested from the spot the same day and has been sent to jail. Brijbir Singh, another accused in the case was nabbed on February 17 and remanded to judicial custody till March 2.
 
The deceased was one of the accused in the 2011 Barkali case, in which eight people of a family were killed.
