Vidarbha reach 129 for four on day two

Despite an unbeaten half-century by Ganesh Satish, Vidarbha were struggling at 129 for four against Odisha in a rain-curtailed second day of their Ranji Trophy Group B cricket match here today.

After the opening day of the match was washed out yesterday, only 56 overs could be bowled today.

Upon winning the toss, Odisha put Vidarbha in to bat and straightaway took the wicket of opener Aniruddha Chore (3). But Faiz Fazal (23) and Satish steadied the boat with a 52-run partnership for the second wicket.

After Fazal's dismissal also, Satish continued to play his shots, even as two more wickets fell at the other end.
 

Satish's unbeaten 62 came off 166 deliveries that included nine hits to the fence.

At the close of play on day two, Ravi Jangid (5 not out), was giving Satish company at the crease.

For Odisha, Basant Mohanty (2/29) claimed two wickets, while Biplab Samantray (1/29) and Deepak Behera (1/40) took wicket apiece.
