Video of a mentally-challenged girl purportedly being beaten-up by a lady police official at a Ganesh pandal here has gone viral, prompting police to initiate a probe.
The alleged incident took place on Friday when the girl, identified as Nandini Goswami, had visited the 'Lalbaughcha Raja' pandal along with her kin, DCP (Detection 1) M Dahikar said.
It was when Goswami reportedly tried to enter the VIP 'darshan line' police officials present there prevented her from entering it. Then she was allegedly beaten up by a lady police official, police said.
"The zonal DCP will personally inquire into the matter," Dahikar said.
