Meka Vidhuraj played a waiting game to pip table-topper B Rajnikanth in the last lap for a thrilling win in the Suzuki Gixxer Cup (Open) as the third round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship kicked off at the MMRT track here today.
Vidhuraj, hailing from Nuzvid near Vijayawada, started on P4, but took the lead after the first lap. He displayed controlled aggression and was waiting close behind the leader Rajnikanth in the last three laps and made a smart overtaking move on the back straight to take the lead and clinch his second win from five starts.
Later, in the TVS MMSC One Make Championship race for Novice riders, Apex Racing's Yashas RL of Bengaluru chalked out a comfortable win while Hari Prasath R was a distant second, followed by Kamran Alam,.

In the qualification for Super Sport India 300cc to 400cc class, Rockstar Racing's Ami Van Poederooijen of Auroville took the pole position with Abhishek V in second place and Ananth Raj P in third.
In the qualifying session for the Pro Stock upto 165cc, Honda Ten 10 Racing clinched the first two places on the front row with Rajiv Sethu edging out championship leader Harikrishnan R for P1. Kannan Karnan of Performance Racing qualified in P3 pipping Dinesh Kumar of RACR by a fraction of a second.
Amarnath Menon of RACR took the pole from PM Soorya of Team Speed-up Racing in the Stock upto 165cc class qualification and Joseph Mathew P of Sparks Racing clinched P3.
Sri Lankan Aaron Gunaderdan topped the qualifying session of the Gixxer Cup Novice class while Soorya PM of Chennai will start from P1 in the Honda CBR 150 Novice race.
