Actress Vidya Balan was initially sceptical to take up the role of a Punjabi housewife in her forthcoming movie 'Ghanchakkar'.

After doing intense roles in 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Kahaani', Vidya was nervous to step into the unfamiliar territory of a comedy movie with 'Ghanchakkar'.

"When I was offered this role, I thought I could not do it. I am glad my director convinced me. I had fun doing this quirky film. I hope people enjoy it too," Vidya told reporters here at the audio launch of 'Ghanchakkar'.

To get into the skin of the character, Vidya learnt Punjabi.

"First, I learnt bad words in Punjabi. I think it makes things easy. I wanted to be comfortable and hence learnt the language," she said.

Vidya has teamed up once again with Emraan for the comedy thriller, being directed by Rajkumar Gupta of 'No One Killed Jessica' fame.

The song which was launched today is 'Lazy lad' a funny take on regular household life.
