Vig nabs an SHO accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh in Patna

Vigilance sleuths today arrested police inspector-cum-SHO of Beur police station of Patna district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh from Beur police station's premises, a Vigilance department release said.

A Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught Rakesh Kumar Yadav, a police inspector, who was SHO of Beur police station in Patna town, red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh for allegedly lodging an FIR in connection with a case.

Amarendra Kumar, a resident of Gulmehia bagh under Didarganj police station of the district, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department that inspector Rakesh Kumar Yadav was demanding a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh for lodging an FIR in a case, the release said.
 

The allegations were found to be correct during the verification carried out by the Bureau, it said.

The accused would be produced before a Special Vigilance Court (I) at Patna after interrogation, the release said.

Altogether 43 persons have been arrested in 41 trap cases laid by the Bureau so far in 2017.
