Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has stepped up vigil along the India-Nepal border in the wake of the Independence Day.
To prevent movement of anti-national elements in the area, security agencies have been asked to ascertain the identities of people before allowing them to cross over through the border, SSB Commandant, K S Bankhothi said.
Orders have also been issued to other security agencies such as Indo-Nepal Border Police and local intelligence units to be on the alert at the border, he said.
