The Vigilance Bureau dropped the names of Jaswinder Kaur and Parveen Puri in the disproportionate assets case against Kaur's husband BIS Chahal and others as it filed a supplementary chargesheet today.
The Vigilance Bureau had registered a disproportionate assets case against BIS Chahal - former media advisor to former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh - and nine others in 2007.
In 2008, the bureau had presented challan against Chahal; his son Bikramjit Singh; wife Jaswinder Kaur; Parveen Puri; Surjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh of village Barsat; Gursharan Singh and Jasbir Singh of village Kamalpur in Ludhiana district; Gurmit Singh, a resident of US; and Jaswinder Pal Singh of Delhi.

The prosecution had claimed that Chahal during his tenure as media advisor to CM had raised assets worth Rs 10,02,95,076 whereas his total income during the period was Rs 1,87,33,881.
The bureau had registered case under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC.
The next date of hearing is November 30.
