Vigilance nabs survey amin for accepting bribe

Vigilance sleuths today arrested a survey amin on graft charge from Begusarai district in Bihar when he was accepting bribe for handing over a survey report.

One Arun Prasad Singh, a resident of Sikarhula village, had lodged a complaint with the vigilance department that one Ravindra Kumar, the survey amin, was demanding a bribe for the report, a vigilance department release said.

The allegations were found to be true during the verification carried out by the bureau, it said.

A flying squad team was constituted under Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jamiruddin who raided a private office at Sikaraul Dihpur area of the district and caught him when he was accepting Rs 35,000 from the complainant.
 

Kumar was posted at the office of bandobast officer in Kankol village, the headquarters of Sadar block of Begusarai district.

The accused would be produced before a Special Vigilance Court at Patna after interrogation, the release said.

Altogether 44 persons have been arrested in 42 trap cases laid by the bureau in 2017.
