Vigilance sleuths arrest health manager for accepting bribe

Vigilance sleuths today arrested a health manager of a primary health centre on graft charge in Bihar's Saran district, a Vigilance department release said.

A Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught one Vikas Kumar, a health manager with Primary Health Centre of Sadar block of Saran district, red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for sending the logbook to the incharge medical officer.

One Ranjit Sah, a resident of Gangoi village of the district, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department that the health manager Vikas Kumar was demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from him for signing and sending the logbook of generator to the incharge medical officer.
 

During the verification done by the Bureau, the allegations were found to be correct as the accused agreed to get the work done for Rs 10,000, the release said.

A flying squad team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Munna Prasad raided the Primary Health Centre premises at Sadar block and caught the health manager, Vikas Kumar, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The accused would be produced before a Special Vigilance court at Muzaffarpur after interrogation, the release said.

Altogether 68 persons have been arrested in 60 trap cases laid by the Bureau so far in 2016.
