"The UPA government does not interfere into the investigation of ongoing cases, much less in the judicial processes. If at all, there is anybody who has raised any such grievance, most respectfully I would like to say they are devoid of any reason," party spokesperson Manish Tewari said.
Vijayamma today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and demanded a probe by a Supreme Court judge into the alleged harassment of her jailed son by the CBI and "ulterior motive" of a particular official of the agency.
Heading a delegation of the YSR Congress, she explained to Singh in detail the events leading to the questioning and subsequent arrest of her son Jagan, Lok Sabha MP from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, on the evening of May 27, just a fortnight before by-elections to 18 assembly seats.
Tewari said in democracy, everybody is entitled to put forth his or her views.
