The Vijayawada Railway Division recorded a 27 per cent increase in loadings at 38.1 million tonne (MT) in financial year 2014-15 against 30.2 MT in 2013-14.
The earnings on these goods loadings in 2014-15 stood at Rs 3,692 crore, up from Rs 2,489 crore registered in FY13, a 25 per cent rise, a statement from the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office issued yesterday said.
The achieved earnings (from loadings) was more than the target of Rs 3,642 crore for recently concluded fiscal.
DRM Ashok Kumar said that in all five divisions of South Central railway, only Vijayawada division surpassed the loadings of 34.8 MT.
