Senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil Saturday attacked the Shiv Sena over the appointment of its leaders on various corporations and boards.
Vikhe Patil, who is the Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, accused the Uddhav Thackeray-led party of deceiving people of the state by accepting the posts despite threatening to pull out of the government time and again.
The Maharashtra government Friday announced appointments to 21 vacant posts in various state-run corporations, boards and authorities. Almost half of these posts have gone to the leaders of the Shiv Sena, the ruling BJP's bickering ally.
"The Shiv Sena has repeatedly talked about its ministers walking out of the government. Despite that, it accepted the posts of chairpersons of corporations. These are double standards and the party has deceived the people of Maharashtra by doing so," Vikhe-Patil told reporters here.
The Shiv Sena has been sharing power with the BJP despite their strained relationship.
