Two security personnel were injured and a number of government vehicles damaged in attack by villagers during an anti-encroachment drive in the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary here.
Police said a team of forest officials and police reached Sujauli area after getting information that illegal hutments had been erected on forest land by some persons.
As soon as the team members started removing the huts, people attacked them injuring SSB jawan Chandan Singh and constable Devendra Yadav and damaging six government vehicles.
Police has detained 14 persons in this connection.
