Vilokali Zhimomi crowned Miss Nagaland, 2016

Vilokali Zhimomi, a 19-year-old Bachelor of Arts student from Zunheboto district of the state has been crowned Miss Nagaland, 2016 here today.

Standing at 5.7 feet, Vilokali aspires to be a journalist.

Replying to a query on how the beauty pageant would help in her career, she said through the contest she has learnt communication skills and also to pose before people, which were important requirements of a journalist.

Responding to a query in the semi-finals on her idea about happiness and success, she said "Doing from the heart with full attention and also fulfilling the aspiration in life."

Chuichang from Tuensang district bagged the first runners-up, while Shenili Chisi was placed third.
 

Miss Nagaland, 2015, Nenghoiling Hansing crowned the three winners in presence of Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang and Miss North East Jewel Queen, 2016 and Miss Queen East of Miss Queen of India, 2016, Veineinem Singson.

The glittering beauty pageant was organised by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) marking their 25-years of existence as part of the ongoing Hornbill Celebration of Nagaland at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts in Jotsoma.
