"Fast and Furious" star Vin Diesel is to resurrect hit 1970s TV cop show 'Kojak' for the big screen.
The 45-year-old has signed up to play the hit detective, made famous by Telly Savalas, reported Sun Online.
Ex-show star Kevin Dobson, who played Kojak's partner Bobby Crocker, said, "Vin will do a great job."
Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, two members of the writing team for 'Skyfall', have been set to pen the movie for Universal pictures.
'Kojak' ran for five seasons and 125 episodes from 1973 to 1978. Another television adaptation was given a try back in 2005 with Ving Rhames in the lead, but that attempt only lasted one season.
