Bollywood star Salman Khan today turned emotional as he remembered Vinod Khanna and Shashi Kapoor, saying he could not believe the veteran actors are no more.

While Vinod Khanna essayed the role of Salman's father in films -- "Wanted", "Dabangg" and "Dabangg 2", Shashi Kapoor worked closely with his father Salim Khan in "Deewar", "Trishul" and "Shaan".

Salman, 52, said the veteran actors would stay alive with their films.

"It is really sad. VK (Vinod Khanna) sir was ill and he passed away. It is a great loss to the film industry. And now Shashi uncle has passed away which is really very sad. I still can't believe they are no more. But when we see their films, it feels like they are still here with us.

"I believe they are immortal. I still can't believe the fact that VK sir is not there, I feel he is still there somewhere with us," Salman said.

Vinod Khanna passed on April 27 following his long battle with cancer. He was 70.

Shashi Kapoor died earlier this week. He took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was 79.

Salman was speaking at the press conference promoting his Da-Bangg The Tour.
