The annual award was given last night to Mehta, Chairman, "Outlook" group, by Dipak Tilak, editor of daily "Kesari" and great grandson of the Lokmanya Tilak who started the paper more than a century ago to mobilise masses against the British rule.
After being felicitated, Mehta said the media was facing a crisis of credibility and it was a challenge before it to keep the people's faith in the printed word intact.
He said imbibing the journalism as practiced by Lokmanya Tilak could again make the media credible and restore its fearless and principled character in the society.
