'The Help' star Viola Davis is all set to star in a new Michael Mann thriller.

The 47-year-old actress is in talks to play the female lead in the untitled project, reported Deadline.

Directed by Mann, the thriller is about a cyber crime and will begin shooting in China in May.

Back in February, Davis said that she was tired of playing maids in movies.

"I'm tired of that. We played - me and Octavia Spencer, Aunjanue Ellis, Roslyn Ruff - we all played maids in 'The Help' and it was fabulous, it's a fabulous story because we were personalised and all of those things.

"But I think that people need to see an African-American in the 21st century integrated in the life of this town and family who's not in servitude," she said.

Last year, Davis was nominated for a 'Best Actress' award at the Oscars for her role in 'The Help'.

She will be seen next in 'Ender's Game' and 'Prisoners'.
