Normalcy has returned to violence-hit industrial town of Bari Brahmana in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said here today.

"The situation is under control. Normalcy has returned to the town and vehicular traffic is going on normally on the Jammu-Pathankote highway", a police officer said.

Amid tight security, shops and business establishments were reopened today and traffic was plying on the roads, he said.

Last night, curfew was imposed in the Bari Brahmana after 10 people, including seven cops, were injured in stone-pelting during a group clash.

Members of two communities clashed over a piece of land measuring around 42 acres in Bari Brahmana industrial estate as one community was stopped from organising wrestling matches on the field, which the other community claimed as theirs.

Two vehicles were also set on fire even as police tried to disperse the mob, officials said.
