In the Legislative Council, the government announced a commissioner-level inquiry into it.

Raising the issue through an adjournment notice in the state Assembly, Dharampal (BSP) alleged that his party workers were tagetted at the behest of ruling party supporters in the largescale violence in Garhi Chandni area of Agra on the polling day.

BSP members took strong exception to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohammad Azam Khan alleging the hand of BSP leaders in instigating the people for violence and staged a noisy walk-out.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Legislative Council Ganesh Shanker Pandey directed the government to conduct an inquiry into alleged police brutalities in Agra during polling for urban local body elections.

Raising the issue through an adjournment notice during Zero Hour, BSP members demanded a debate on police action in Agra.

Rejecting their adjournment notice, the Chairman directed the government to conduct an inquiry by divisional commissioner Agra and inform the House accordingly.
