At least 7 persons were injured and windows of a few vehicles damaged in brick-batting, police sources said.
Local residents including traders, lawyers and others had announced a protest today to express their anger over dismal power supply.
However, as none of the power department officials reached the site of protest to provide them any assurance, the locals resorted to violence.
