Virus impact: CR cancels 23 trains, WR five

The Central Railway on Tuesday canceled 23 outstation trains while Western railway canceled five trains till April 1, citing the coronavirus threat as well as non-occupancy as reasons.

The trains canceled by the Central Railway (CR) included some popular trains originating from Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Bhusawal and Nagpur, whereas Western Railway (WR) canceled trains originating from Mumbai Central, Bandra Terminus (both in Mumbai) and Indore.

The cancellation will come into effect from Wednesday.

The WR canceled four Duronto Express trains between Mumbai Central-Indore, Bandra Terminus-Jamnagar, Mumbai Central-Jaipur and Mumbai Central-New Delhi along with the Indore-Puri Humsafar Express.

The trains canceled by the CR included Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express, Mumbai-Nagpur Nandigram Express, Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express, CSMT-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, LTT- Nizamabad Express and Bhusaval-Nagpur Express.
