The host team's athletes Santosh Kumar, K Vijaya Lakshmi, N Nishanth and P Nayana excelled at the tournament held at the Diamond Jubilee Port Outdoor Stadium.
In the men's category Santosh Kumar won five gold medals - in 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay and long jump. The VPT athlete also won silver medal in 800m event.
Vijaya Lakshmi secured six gold medals - in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800me, long and high jump, and two silver medals in 100m hurdle and 4x100m relay.
In the boys under-18 category, Nishanth of VPT bagged gold medals in 100m, 200m, 400m and 400m hurdle.
In the under-14 girl's category, Nayana of VPT secured five gold medals - in 100m, 200m, long jump, high jump, shot put and bronze in 100m hurdle.
