Director General of Police (DGP) J V Ramudu said here today that police department would make Vizag a safer city before it gets smart city status.
Talking to reporters after flagging off new vehicles for the city police at Beach Road in the city, he said that 86 vehicles, including two wheelers and four wheelers have been added to the police fleet in Vizag city.
He also inaugurated a police outpost near Kalimatha temple on Beach Road.

Commissioner of Police Amit Garg said that the purpose of introducing new vehicles is to increase mobility and response of the police in the city and to instill confidence among people in the city.
These new vehicles would be used to control rash and negligent driving, he said.
