Well known filmmaker-composer Vishal Bharadwaj got nostalgic recollecting how he created the popular song 'Chaddi Pehen Ke Phool Khila Hain' in the 1990s.
Walking down memory lane, Bharadwaj said, "In 1992 the serial ("Jungle Book - Mowgli") was being made by National Film Development Corporation. And at that time someone else was supposed to do the song but at last moment he backed out and Gulzar saab called me to do the song."
The Hindi version of the title song, "Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai" became very popular and the original music was given by Vishal and lyrics were penned by Gulzar.

It is written by Gulzar and composed by the "Omkara" helmer.
"Now after 23 years they (makers) wanted to revive the song again and the situation was the same. I was going for my 'Rangoon' shooting and I had only one day to shoot the song. So Gulzar saab and I met and did the song. It's been 23 years so we thought we should do something new," Bharadwaj said.
The 50 year-old director-composer-singer is happy that people are enjoying this song.
