Vishwajit Rane refutes rumours of leaving Cong ahead of polls

Goa Congress legislator Vishwajit Rane today scotched rumours that he was leaving the party and floating his own political outfit in the forthcoming state polls.

"I am going to contest the next election on Congress ticket. There is no possibility of me leaving the party," he said reacting to media reports about his plans to float the 'Sattari Yuva Manch'.

The 45-year-old politician, representing Valpoi constituency on Congress ticket, said he has been focusing on his constituency by holding corner meetings and reaching out to the people.

Rane, the former state health minister, said, "Some people were spreading rumours about floating of a political outfit".
 

He said he is working for the party in Sattari taluka which has two constituencies - one represented by him and another by his father Pratapsinh Rane.
