Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas today said if he won from the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency he would ensure reopening of all closed factories in the area and introduce a direct train to Allahabad.

Addressing a press conference here after his name was announced as the party's candidate from Amethi, currently represented by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Vishwas said he would bring in all-round development to the area.

He appealed to the people to submit their own manifestos for development of Amethi.

He promised to set up a large stadium in the area and introduce a direct train to Allahabad. The AAP leader said he would ensure reopening of closed factories in the region.

Vishwas took a dig at Gandhi and said the Congress MP had befooled the people of the area. He said Amethi had fared badly in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme despite it being a pet project of Gandhi.

He said his party would organise a mega convention here on February 18.
