The Naval Dockyard here has created an integrated set up to facilitate hassle-free entry inside the establishment for contractors and visitors without compromising on security.
The set up, christened "Dockyard Visitor Support Centre" (DVSC), was inaugurated by Vice-Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command yesterday.
The facility was the outcome of detailed study undertaken of the footfall at entry point of the muster gate of the shipbuilding yard, an official release said.

Rear Admiral Sanjeev Kale, Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, said the DVSC has the mechanism for swift clearance without compromising on any of the security checks. The revised process also does away with the paper requisitions and would be a step towards paperless functioning.
The DVSC complex has two conference halls which can be used to conduct discussions with companies dealing with the Indian Navy and other financial activities at the gate itself.
The integrated complex also houses a cell for retired personnel called 'Veteran Information and Transaction Annex'. This addresses another long-standing concern of expeditious resolution of the post-retirement issues of superannuated personnel at the gate itself, the release said.
The complete infrastructure is under CCTV coverage.
