Visitors' entry was banned in both domestic and international terminals of N S C Bose International Airport here today where security was beefed up yesterday following a threat to blow it up.

A senior airport official said those accompanying air passengers will be stopped at the entry points of two terminals.

Similarly, airport-bound vehicles will be intercepted at the entry point to the main area and subjected to search, the official said.

Though no reason was cited by the official or the security agencies, the move comes in the wake of a threat e-mail which was sent to airport manager's ID yesterday to blow up the airport.

Also security agencies have been on alert following intelligence report about militants sneaking into the country and conspiring terror attacks.
